First Computer program and Functional Computer program
Grace Murray Hopper (1906- 1992) wrote the first functional computer program. It was for the Mark I computer developed in 1944. She developed the first fully automatic calculator.
However, the first program written but never used was by the woman Ada Byron. It was written for Charles Babbage's 'analytical engine' which wasn't completed.

Undefined reference to CVKnearest...... Issue.
Hi....
People who are using OpenCV may come across this issue. This Quick and Brief post is to help those who are still struggling with this compilation problem.
Issue is "undefined reference to `CvKNearest::CvKNearest(CvMat const*, CvMat const*, CvMat const*, bool, int)' collect2: ld returned 1 exit status"
This URL helps to add MSVC compiler to a Qt project.

In my case, I am using OpenCV with Qt.
Things to be checked are,
- header file ml.h should be in your source file.
- ml library path and the ml library should be in your project properties (if you are using Visual Studio) or in .pro file (if using Qt).
You have done above steps and still getting the same issue.. :S What should you check next ??????
This is where I got stuck. I got the exact help from OpenCV community. What he said was
" If you are trying to use with GCC the precompiled binaries of OpenCV for Windows, it won't work for C++ functionality. Have you recompiled OpenCV with GCC? C++ binaries produced by MSVC and GCC and not compatible against each other "
In my case, I had used MinGW for compiling. Now I am using MSVC and problem solved. :)

How to link OpenCV with Qt
Hi... after a long time!!!.
These days, I am learning OpenCV and Qt programming for my undergraduate project. So, I thought to share my knowledge with you all.
I was struggling a lot to link both OpenCV and Qt as a beginner. Finally, I found these posts which are great.
This is how my project's .pro file looks... (OS - Windows 7)
INCLUDEPATH += "C:\OpenCV2.1\include\opencv" \
"C:\OpenCV2.1\src\cv" \
"C:\OpenCV2.1\src\cvaux" \
"C:\OpenCV2.1\src\cxcore" \
"C:\OpenCV2.1\src\highgui" \
"C:\OpenCV2.1\src\ml"
LIBS += -L"C:\OpenCV2.1\lib" \
-lcv210 \
-lcvaux210 \
-lhighgui210 \
-lcxcore210
Here cv210, cvaux210 and so on..... are the names of lib files in your opencv lib folder.
Very simple thing... but as a beginner, I know how I struggled with this.. So, this post is for those who are new to OpenCv with Qt Programming.
Have a nice day!!! :)

Nice :)
Nice thoughts..but, not by me. :P"Have I told you yet...
How much you mean to me...
How I told you yet
About all the happiness you bring!
Have I told you yet...
That you mean the world to me!
Just in case I haven't...
I want you to know that...
You're the best thing
that's ever happened to me!"
Quoted from a B'day Card.
Really nice :-)

Exams Over... :)
Exams are over for this semester. Feel comfort now. But, it was not much easy.
Only one year remains to complete my degree. And it is the hardest part. Everyone must work hard to cross this stream.
Good Luck everyone :)
I have a dream, a song to sing
To help me cope with anything
If you see the wonder of a fairy tale
You can take the future even if you fail
I believe in angels
Something good in everything I see
I believe in angels
When I know the time is right for me
I'll cross the stream - I have a dream........

Duruthu Poya Day in Kelani Temple
We celebrate Duruthu Poya which falls on January month to memorise Gautama Buddha's first visit to Sri Lanka. This visit took place in the first year of Buddha's enlightenment.
Kelani Perahara is the most significant festival on this day.
Below photos have been captured from Kelaniya Temple on Duruthu Poya Day.

1 Year
It was almost one year for my blog on this 25th January. :)
Ohhh... it was on 25th..... 25th is a lucky day in my life, but not in January..... ;-)
Ahaahh... One thing I noticed just now, when I saw one of my friend's blog - Me and My Mouth. She has posted this on 25th January last year.

Rep2excel
Hi.. :)
After a long time............
Because I had 4 days holiday ;-) , I thought to write something on my blog....
These days, we are finding a software or a way to convert oracle reports to excel files. We searched for many.... but still we couldn't find the exact one that we want. So, we are searching and searching and searching for the best suitable one for our requirement.
One of the softwares we found was Rep2excel which has been developed for Oracle reports and can be used to convert Oracle (6i, 9i and 10g) report output (should be in HTML or HTMLCSS format) to an Excel file format. In addition, the output excel file can be accessed via browser and called from Oracle forms.
Keep in mind that, this is a win32 console application. But Rep2excel can be used on Linux environment installing Rep2excel and MS Office on a Windows server.
For more information, visit http://www.lv2000.com/rx/rep2excel.htm
We had only one problem with this, which was, it prints header details. In our original report, header details are displaying on every page, but we do not want it to be printed on excel file.
Although we had this issue, this is a fine and useful software :)......
Indeed, it's very useful.... :)
You can see Live Demo from this site http://www.lv2000.com/demos/rep2excel_demo1.htm
So, now you also can try this out..
Have a nice Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's a Magic. Try it now - For Windows
1. An Indian discovered that noone can create a folder anywhere on the computer which can be named as "CON".
2. Open an empty notepad file then type
Bush hid the facts
Save it (you can use any name for saving)
Close it and re-open it.
See what there are?
3. This was discovered by a Brazilian.
Open Microsoft word and type
=rand (200, 99)
and then press ENTER
See what happens......

Lectures Started
I couldn't write anything, cos my final year lectures were started. Have Requirement Engineering and Network Software Design for this semester and I know that I have to work hard for both of these subjects.
Requirement Engineering.....hmmm... a lot of theory but very important subject to be learnt.
Why do most of software products fail????
There are a lot of reasons... one thing is inconsistent and incomplete requirements and customer doesn't know what the customer really wants at the beginning, but when the product is developed, customer realizes what he actually wanted. That's the issue. So, the requirement engineer should have a talent to collect requirements properly.
Network Software Design.... obviously a valuable subject too... But, more difficult...
The more we read and study, the more we learn...

Thanks a lot Recuva
There was a virus in my PC, so that I had to format it. While I was trying to back up my data, some of them were accidentally deleted (shift + delete). :(
I asked my friends about a software to recover deleted data and I found
But, there are some rules to keep in mind when recovering.
You can go through below links where I found this software.

And, I downloaded this from

Oracle Report Builder Order by Issue
When we use Oracle, we can have SQL Navigator for back end packages, Form Builder for creating forms and Report Builder to generate reports. There was an issue in a report that was to order by using name for a sub data model query(not the main data model query) and several times this issue was reported, but when I go through the report, it was already ordered by name.
Assume,
branch and dept are tables in the database.
name and code are some table columns (fields) in these both tables.
Suppose the main data model query was,
SELECT branch.code, branch.name
FROM branch
ORDER BY branch.code;
And, sub data model query was,
SELECT dept.code, dept.name
FROM dept
ORDER BY dept.name;
As we know, according to the second query, department details should be ordered by name. But, in my case, this didn't happen.
The sub data model (not the sub data model query) in the Report Builder appeared as
code
name
So, we changed the positions of those fields (name to be in the first position) in the sub data model (not in the sub data model query).
Thereafter, it displayed like
name
code
Then, we run the report, it ordered properly and the issue was successfully sorted out. :)
But, even we don't change the field which is going to be ordered to the first position in the data model, it works for some cases. So, if anyone knows the exact reason for this, I wish, you will definitely share your ideas with me. :)
